Micah was great to work with.  He was able to market our liquor license and find a buyer at a top market price within a fairly short amount of time.  He worked well with the buyer and seller to find terms that worked well for both parties which both had unique circumstances.  He was attentive and able to follow through with the transaction through the final closing. I would recommend Micah to anyone who is looking to buy or sell a liquor license in PA.

You can do it yourself, but identifying a license, negotiating the right price, and completing transfer paperwork is complex. The wrong step can cost far more in time and money.

A liquor license is an official authorization that allows a business to legally sell alcoholic beverages. The requirements and types of licenses vary by state, and sometimes even by city or county. There are often distinct licenses for selling beer and wine versus spirits, or for selling alcohol to-go versus serving it on-site.

Any business that sells or serves alcohol must have a valid liquor license. This includes restaurants, bars, nightclubs, taverns, liquor stores, grocery stores, and convenience stores—essentially any establishment offering alcoholic beverages to the public.

States regulate the number of liquor licenses available, making them highly sought-after. New licenses are typically distributed through a state-run lottery system, but in many areas, few (if any) new licenses are issued. As a result, most businesses acquire their liquor license on the secondary market through a licensed broker like Liquor License Auctioneers.

Although liquor licenses are issued at the state level, they are usually restricted to a specific city, county, or jurisdiction. Before purchasing a license, it’s essential to verify with local zoning authorities that the license can be used at your intended business location.
